From an amateur to a professional carpenter

Andy is a trained carpenter, but has always been more interested in fine art, and has painted for many years.  Although very passionate and committed to his artistic practice, Andy has a family to support and was not earning enough to give up his day job and earn his living solely from his artistic talents.

The Curator at the RBSA Gallery put Andy forward for the EQUAL programme.  Once accepted onto the scheme, Andy benefited from industry-focussed seminars and practical workshops that enabled him to go from being an amateur to a professional artist.

Andy found the course inspiring and very useful, and felt that it gave him a lot more confidence to continue with his creative practice.  His dream for the future is to own a gallery in Scotland or the Cotswolds.
